The hot banana butterscotch topping makes this a truly memorable ice cream dessert

- Grate the rind of the orange and squeeze the juice
- Cut the grapes in half
- Place the sugar in a small saucepan with 3 tablespoons of cold water
- Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved, then increase the heat and boil rapidly for about 3 minutes or until a light golden colour
- Remove from the heat
- Beat in the butter, piece by piece and stir in the orange juice and rind as well as the raisins
- If the sauce separates, heat for a few minutes
- Peel the bananas and cut into slices, then add to the sauce with the grapes
- Arrange slices of ice cream overlapping on a serving dish then pour over the sauce
- Serve immediately
