You’ll have to exercise some will power here, these brownies are very ‘more-ish’

- Grease and line a 7 x 11 inch (18 x 28 cm.) cake tin
- In a small pan bring the prunes, dates and apple juice to the boil
- Cover and simmer until soft, about 10 minutes
- Beat to a smooth paste then place on one side to cool
- When the fruit has cooled place in a mixing bowl then stir in the sugar, eggs and vanilla essence
- Fold in the flour, cocoa ,drinking chocolate and the chocolate chips until well mixed
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared cake tin and smooth the top
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350F, Gas Mark 4, 180C for 25-30 minutes
- Divide into 12 pieces and leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
- Sift the icing sugar into a bowl and mix with the vanilla essence and enough water to form a soft icing
- Decorate the tops of the brownies with the icing and dust with chocolate powder to serve
