Scotch Eggs

Serves 4


It just wouldn't be a proper picnic without these savoury eggs

  • 4 hard boiled eggs
  • 12 oz. (350g) sausage meat
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons of milk

    Cooking Instructions:
    1. Shell the boiled eggs and coat lightly with flour
    2. Divide the sausage meat in to 4 portions and cover each egg as evenly as possible with it
    3. Beat the egg, add milk, then coat each wrapped egg carefully with the egg mixture and breadcrumbs
    4. Fry in deep fat for about 10 minutes, allowing time for the sausage meat to cook well
