Croquette Potatoes (Patatokeftedes)

Serves 8


Cheese and potato appetizers (mezdes) that go down well with a glass of ouzo

  • 2 lbs (1 kilo) potatoes
  • 4 eggs
  • 11 oz. (300 gm) kefalotiri cheese
  • frying oil
  • salt and pepper
  • flour

    Cooking Instructions:
    1. Boil the potatoes, peel them and put through a blender
    2. Mix the cheese and eggs with the potatoes
    3. Season to taste with salt and pepper
    4. Shape the mixture into croquettes and flour them
    5. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the croquettes until lightly browned
