Sweet and Sour Barbecue Chicken

Serves 4


Mouth-watering drumsticks, great for parties and barbecues

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) clear honey
  • 4 tablespoons (60ml) red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) soy sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce

    Cooking Instructions:
    1. Make several slits in the drumstick skins with a sharp sauce
    2. Place the drumsticks in a shallow dish
    3. Mix together the vinegar, soy sauce, tomato paste, garlic, cayenne, seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and honey
    4. Pour this mixture over the drumsticks and marinade for a couple of hours or overnight
    5. Grill drumsticks for about 20 minutes, brushing with the marinade and turning occasionally
    6. Serve hot or cold with salad or pasta
