Chocolate Fingers

Makes 12


Luscious chocolate fingers with a creamy filling.

  • 6 oz. (150g) plain flour
  • 1 oz. (25g) cocoa
  • 3 oz. (75g) butter
  • 1 small egg
  • 3 oz. castor sugar
  • cream frosting (see cream frosting recipe
  • a little vanilla essence
  • quarter tsp. salt

    Cooking Instructions:
    1. Pre-heat oven to 375F, Gas Mark 5, 190C
    2. Sift the flour, salt and cocoa together
    3. Cream the butter and sugar until light
    4. Beat the egg together with a few drops of vanilla essence and add to the creamed mixture
    5. Mix in the sifted dry ingredients
    6. Turn the dough on to a lightly floured board and knead lightly
    7. Roll to a thickness of three quarters of an inch, prick with a fork and cut into oblongs
    8. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 10-15 minutes
    9. Sandwich the fingers with cream frosting
